David K. Wiggins, emeritus faculty at George Mason, is the editor of the Sport, Culture, and Society series at the University of Arkansas Press. The series focuses on a variety of sports and includes several books that explore the history of sport in a handful of American cities.
“Larry Malley,” a former director of the University of Arkansas Press, “and I both saw the need for another university press series that would publish books dealing with a serious analysis of sport and its interconnection to other societal institutions,” Wiggins notes. “From the very beginning, we envisioned books that would be accessible to both a scholarly and popular audience.”
